MRP Report Modifications: “Inventory Part View by Manufacturer”
MRP Report Modifications: “Inventory Part View by Manufacturer”

1. Add the “Default Supplier” next to the manufacturer and location in the Inventory header of this report. This is our highest priority request.
a. Reason: We use the “Default Supplier” field to identify the Blanket order supplier that supports our demand for a specific Inservco part number. The default supplier field is used to run an MRP share program (a custom report) that is sent weekly to suppliers to hold bonded inventory. The buyers want to be able to look at the MRP sheet and identify the supplier for that item. We currently accomplish the Supplier ID in the buyer field but we want to change this process as we are restructuring our buyer codes to show buyer and type of replenishment. There are 2 types of replenishment that we use, Kanban and MRP.

2. Add “Default Supplier” as a filter in the MRP search Advise if this can be done. This would be used to run MRP by a given supplier.

3. Add the Safety Stock field to the header of this report. Put next to Min and Mult.
a. Reason: In our Kanban set up the buyer would like to see the safety stock because it shows the minimum quantity we are holding in stock. This is especially helpful on a KBR Kanban flag.
b. We are using safety stock on finished goods to support our customer Kanban programs and the safety stock field in this report would be helpful to monitor our minimum stock levels.

4. Add MRC code to the Header.
a. Reason: Identifies a priority to review an item.

5. Add MRC field in the filter of the MRP search.
a. Reason: If this field were built into the MRP filter to search for items of higher risk a buyer could prioritize the items that are identified as constraint items.
b. Example: We use 4 types of Risk:
• GS - General Stock - Low risk
• CS - Customer Specific - Medium to high risk - Limited customer base, parts are not readily available.
• NC/NR - non cancelable/Non- returnable - High Risk
• Obsolete - No longer available through franchised channels.
c. Advantage: The advantage to having this field as a filter would be the ability to run MRP actions on your highest risk components. This would be helpful in addressing constraint items first.
